About This Journal

The Latin American & Caribbean Law Review (“LCLR”) is a student-run and student-edited legal scholarly journal at Florida International University College of Law (“FIU Law”).

Our mission is to create a space for meaningful scholarship and dialogue on the legal, political, and social issues shaping Latin America and the Caribbean (“the Region”), its diasporas, and its communities in the United States and abroad. These conversations also provide our members with a broader, comparative perspective on legal concepts and developments across our neighboring countries.

The LCLR advances its mission through the publication of innovative articles, essays, lectures, and other scholarly works by professors, practitioners, and students from across the country and around the world. Each year, the LCLR publishes one volume featuring such works selected from submissions, presented through the LCLR’s symposia, and authored by the LCLR’s members.

Rooted in Miami—a city deeply connected to Latin America and the Caribbean—the LCLR is proud to provide FIU Law with a dedicated forum for scholarship that engages with the Region while contributing to broader legal discourse.
