About This Journal
The FIU College of Law Legal Studies Forum serves as a repository and dissemination platform for the in-progress scholarship of the faculty of Florida International University College of Law.
The Legal Studies Forum continues the tradition of the Florida International University College of Law Legal Studies Research Paper Series, which was published through the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) and featured abstracts and working papers authored by FIU Law faculty. The SSRN series provided a venue for sharing scholarship in development and promoting the global visibility of FIU Law research.
Effective January 1, 2027, the Legal Studies Forum succeeds and continues that series following its conclusion on December 31, 2026. While the publication platform has changed, the Forum carries forward the same commitment to broad dissemination of legal scholarship, intellectual engagement, and public access to research produced by the FIU Law community.
Hosted through FIU Law's institutional repository, eCollections in the Digital Commons platform, the Legal Studies Forum provides a permanent, searchable, and openly accessible home for working papers, research reports, and other contributions that advance legal knowledge and address contemporary legal and policy issues. The Forum reflects FIU Law's dedication to innovation, academic excellence, and the widespread sharing of ideas that contribute to legal scholarship, practice, and public discourse. Once published, these working papers will be posted as part the eCollections repository of Faculty Scholarship.
The Legal Studies Forum welcomes readers, researchers, students, practitioners, policymakers, and members of the public interested in the scholarly work of the FIU College of Law community.
