The Torch of Friendship Award was presented on November 16, 1976, by the Board of Trustees of Third Century U.S.A to Elaine Bloom, as an extension of their warm and heart-felt gratitude for her service as an executive committee member of Third Century U.S.A. Through Representative Bloom's efforts, Greater Miami enjoyed a meaningful observance of America's Bicentennial.
