The United Teachers of Dade and the School Board of Dade County, Florida honored Representative Elaine Bloom, Speaker Pro Tempore, for her outstanding commitment to public school education and her leadership in the Florida House forwarding education and hurricane recovery legislation during the 1993 legislative session. The award was presented on June 23rd, 1993, by Chairperson of DCPS, Janet R. McAliley, Superintendent of DCPS, Octavio Vistedo, and Executive Vice-President of UTD, Pat Tornillo.
