In 1974, The Charter Club at Florida International University gave special recognition to Elaine and Phillip Bloom for continuing interest and support of the goals of the university. President of the Florida International University Foundation, Inc., Lester Johnson, along with President of Florida International University, Charles E. Perry, recognized Elaine and Phillip Bloom for their interest and support in the education of students, service to the community, and greater international understanding.
